Materials Under Extreme Conditions
Materials and Engineering Science Program, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology

Our group focus on using pressure (and thermodynamic stimuli in general) to break the boundaries of conventional chemistry, physics and material science. This way we produce new chemical bonds and interactions, aiming to synthesize materials with novel physicochemical properties. Pressure has the potential to become a game-changing approach for the synthesis of novel materials. In addition to possible future practical applications, such studies contribute towards elucidations of outstanding scientific questions in diverse fields such as geoscience and chemistry.
